Howie Combrink is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and businessman based in Johannesburg. Growing up in a recording studio has influenced his passion for producing music, ultimately leading to the establishment of his audio recording and videography/photography studio: The Hit Lab, located in Johannesburg. Howie Combrink is no stranger to the South African music scene and is known to his fans and music lovers for his up-tempo folk-pop tunes. During his time with the band “Watershed”, which he parted ways with in November 2021 and as a solo artist, he shared a stage with acts such as Roxette, James, Prime Circle, The Parlotones, Jeremy Loops, Fokofpolisiekar, The Kiffness, Goodluck, Majozi,and many more. After many years of being a session drummer and producer in and around the music scene, both in South Africa and abroad, 2013 was the year Howie decided to start creating and releasing his original music. 2014 led to a series of significant achievements for him, including two South African Music Award Nominations for “The Best Newcomer and Best Adult Contemporary Artist”. Howie was also nominated in September 2015 for two OFM Music Awards for “Best Male Artist” and “Album Of The Year- South Africa.” In 2020, Combrink released “The City” on the eve of his wedding. The song tells a story about two lovers committing to a life together and taking on the world. The song is a dedication to his new wife and their life journey together. He was recently nominated for three SAMA Awards and is back in the studio to work on new projects.
